Weddings in Michigan (During Covid-19)

Posted on

Here at Harrison Blake Apparel this Michigan summer wedding season we've had the privilege of helping quite a few couples by designing custom suits for grooms and groomsmen. Despite Covid-19, love is still in the air and it's not stopping weddings from moving forward. We have though, noticed a few changes.

A lot of grooms have decided to choose to wear suits rather than traditional tuxedos. We feel this is a great idea for a couple of reasons. The first is, the groom is able to wear the suit after the wedding for many more occasions. This way you are getting the most bang for your buck and having longevity in the garment. Secondly, most weddings have been much more casual and more intimate events, making a suit a practical choice for the wedding theme and location. Michigan has had some really beautiful weather and outdoor weddings have a really great vibe!

Grooms selecting suits with us also have the ability to express their own personal style, from the fabric choice to the lining and creative monograms inside (adding the wedding date). We have had such a good time helping the groom really feel like a part of the big day. A lot of times in the wedding planning, grooms are left on the sidelines looking in. Now, they are really engaged and a big part of the design and planning.

What trends have you seen? What do you think of a suit instead of a tuxedo? Please let us know and of course, get in touch for your wedding or wedding party. We'd love the opportunity to bring your vision to life.
